What this service is
Sowbird is software. We are the vendor: you buy the subscription from Ellul Solutions Ltd directly, and there is no third party between us. We introduce you to nobody, we sell your details to nobody, and we take no commission from anyone for sending you anywhere. We aim to keep the service available at all times and to keep your data recoverable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. If we plan work that will take the service offline we tell subscribers first. You can export your clients, engagements and documents at any time while your subscription is active and for 90 days after it ends.
How we are paid
You pay us, and that is the whole of how this business is funded: a monthly subscription to Sowbird Pro, sold to businesses. Nothing on this site is an advertisement we are paid for, no lead is sold, and no figure or recommendation here is influenced by a commission, because there is none. Price, renewal date and cancellation route are shown before you pay and stated again in your account. Purchase is offered to people acting for purposes related to their trade or profession. Where a consumer nonetheless buys, the statutory cancellation and digital content rights are honoured in full rather than excluded.
Online payments. When you connect your own Stripe account and take a payment through a pay link, Sowbird charges a platform fee of 1% of that payment, in addition to Stripe's own processing fee. Stripe deducts both from the payment before it is paid out to you; Sowbird never holds your customers' money. The rate that applies is the one shown in your account on the day the pay link is created, and a change to it applies only to links created afterwards.
The free tools
The free tools on this site are provided as working tools for people who run a professional-services firm. Their output is arithmetic and structure built on the facts you enter. They do not replace your own knowledge of the person you are referencing, your own scoping of the work, your accountant's treatment of the fee, or your own judgement about a client.
No warranty
Nothing on this site is employment, tax or legal advice, and no document on it is a contract until you and your client make it one. A reference letter written here states what you choose to state about a person and is yours to stand behind; a proposal priced here is a number for the firm to check against its own scoping before it is sent to a client. Templates are starting points, not a contract.
